EVERYONE loves a smooth sorbet and, thanks to Stacey Daphne, now you can have your favourite treat guilt-free.
Made with 100% fresh Australian produce, Smooth as Fruit specialises in all-natural fruit sorbet, also known as “nice-cream” in the vegan community.
Chasing a wholesome and nourishing treat, Stacey began to blend her own frozen fruit into a smooth sorbet, creating a healthier option compared with many similar products available in stores.
“It tasted the same, if not better,” Stacey said.
“I thought if I loved it as much as a regular sorbet packed with sugar, then other people would to.”
She trialled the idea at her local market and has since been providing a fresh, clean food option to locals and visitors alike – the perfect treat for the warm Queensland climate.
The popularity of the sorbet led Stacey to expand the range, which now includes acai bowls and a variety of smoothies.
Suitable for those with all dietary requirements, Smooth as Fruit products are free from sugar, gluten, dairy and artificial flavours to encourage and provide a healthy eating alternative for the community.
“If it’s healthy and nutritious, I’m keen to promote it,” Stacey said.
The home-made snack has become her full-time passion, as she tries to increase the flavour combinations and add more products.
The sorbet flavours include mango, strawberry, pineapple and banana, and change with the seasons, with only a handful of flavours available yearly. The acai bowl and smoothie range is more diverse, offering original, turmeric and tropical, for example.
“I listen to the customers,” Stacey said.
“If they want something, I’ll try and work towards it.”
Stacey tries to source all ingredients locally, even purchasing from fruit suppliers the same day at the Noosa Farmers’ Markets.
Smooth as Fruit can cater at functions, festivals and fetes around the region.
